Experts advise, for baby safety, to place it in the cradle or in the bed always in a supine position (belly up) and this is a golden rule for all newborns.

In the specific case of children suffering from gastro-oesophageal reflux, the experts’ suggestion to ensure a peaceful sleep is to place them on a sloping surface. If baby’s head and back are slightly raised compared to the rest of the body, the discomfort of the milk coming back up from the stomach is reduced. In this case it is possible to use a wedge shaped pillow that allows the child to maintain the “raised” position to help him in the event of frequent regurgitation.
